Parking
Driving and parking in Manhattan can often be time-consuming and frustrating. Free street parking is sometimes available within walking distance of Menno House, even on our block. Many other spots are metered. Regardless, streets are cleaned several times a week, and drivers are advised to pay careful attention to street signs and regulations. Cars are ticketed daily, and the fines are significant.

There are many parking garages in our neighborhood, but most will charge around $35-40 per day. The cheapest garages within walking distance are often the ones owned by Icon on 26th Street, between First and Second Avenues. They sometimes offer a cheaper rate for stays of three days or more.

As a more economical option, consider parking in Brooklyn or New Jersey and taking a subway, PATH train or ferry onto the island. Updated schedules and parking information can be found on websites for the MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority)New Jersey Transit and New York Waterway
